Not too late! Register now for next week’s OHA Advocacy Day
Posted on: 4/12/19
OHA’s Advocacy Day activities offer opportunities for you and others from your hospital to learn more about the legislative process, key issues facing health care and strategies for building relationships and taking action. Spend time with your legislators in a more relaxed social setting, as well as visit them in their offices at the Capitol. Join your colleagues from across the state and make your voice heard.
Agenda:
Tuesday, April 16, all events at Oklahoma History Center, Oklahoma City
1:30-3:30 p.m. – OHA Board meeting (open to all members)
3:30-4:30 p.m. – Advocacy in Action: Lessons from the Field (panel discussion)
A panel of experts will discuss the most effective way to build a relationship with your legislator before you need to ask them for a vote. Former Speaker of the House Kris Steele and Lucky Lamons, former legislator/current chief advocacy officer for St. John Health System, will join Jimmy Leopard, CEO of Wagoner Community Hospital, and Jay Johnson, CEO of Duncan Regional Hospital to provide their unique perspectives on the political process. You will come away with ideas and strategies to get to know your legislator and to involve your community leaders.
