Provision of Care in a Safe Environment Update

According to CMS and accrediting organizations such as Det Norske Veritas and The Joint Commission, one of the most-cited deficiencies at the immediate jeopardy level is the right of patients to receive care in a safe setting. Ligature risks compromise a patient’s right to receive care in a safe setting, and it’s the hospital’s responsibility to provide care and safety to psychiatric patients at risk of harm to themselves or others.
